Introduction to Patchwork Quilting
Increase focus and creativity - discover a new way to relax and have fun.
Patchwork quilting allows you to repurpose well-loved clothing and linens into something new and beautiful. Students will learn the following as they create a colorful quilted placemat:
- best practices for preparing the fabric
- methods for cutting pieces
- stitch fabric pieces together
- proper pressing techniques
- assembling the quilt sandwich
- machine quilting for durability
- adding a binding
An understanding of how a sewing machine works is helpful. No quilting experience is necessary. All materials will be supplied for use during the workshop.
